On the look out for a brand new part-time job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're now on the lookout for new colleagues to join our #TeamNLCS in the Airdrie and Coatbridge area!

We have permanent contracts for 16-30 hours per week and relief opportunities too if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

You'll play a HUGE part in making a difference in the lives of young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs in the Airdrie and Coatbridge communities.

You'll support the individuals with daily living tasks which will involve support to appointments, shopping, meal planning, cooking, housework, finances, medication and personal care. No two days are ever the same and you'll find yourself getting involved in activity clubs, swimming, going to the gym, bowling, shopping, going to the cinema and the pub to name a few.

About you

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualifications and your yearly SSSC registration fees!

For these opportunities, a driver is preferred as some of the people we support have their own mobility cars, however, this isn't a dealbreaker for the right candidates.

All we’ll need you to bring is: -

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • The ability to cook
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

We understand that you would like to have a good work/life balance and it's incredibly important to us that you have this, so we will try to be as flexible as possible with our shift patterns. Our team currently deliver support between the hours of 0600-2300 hours, 7 days a week. Weekends and public holidays would form part of your rota on a rotational basis, but we aim to only have you working every second weekend.

The majority of our shift lengths are between 4 and 8 hours, depending on what suits you and the person you will be supporting.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Lorraine Cunningham on 07976028930.

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible so reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
