Looking for a new job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're on the look out for new colleagues for our #TeamHallcraig in Chryston on a full-time basis.

The Role

You'll be joining our friendly and dedicated team who support an amazing gentleman with complex needs on a 2:1 basis.

The great thing about this job is that it is different every day. This gentleman has a good sense of humour and enjoys a practical joke, so if you enjoy a bit of a laugh in your day, then this might just be the job for you!

As a Support Practitioner, you'll assist with all aspects of daily living, including going to appointments, meal preparation, finances, housework and personal care (bathing and shaving). As the gentleman is non-verbal and has limited communication, getting to know him will take a bit of time, however, you'll have a supportive, dedicated team around you and once you find your feet and get to know him, we're sure you'll find the role very rewarding.

As this gentleman does have his own mobility car and really enjoys going out for a drive, we will need you to have a full UK manual driving license with a minimum of one year of experience on the roads.

About you

As the gentleman we support does have complex needs, for this particular opportunity, we're looking for people who have experience and confidence in delivering care and support.

Although we're looking for people with experience, you will receive a full induction and complete training and shadowing to ensure that you are confident in your new role. We'll also fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your yearly SSSC registration fees!

To be a great Support Practitioner, we'll need you to have;

  • Good communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of following guidelines and routines
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

We provide tailored care 24/7, so shifts will involve working a mixture of 0800-2000 hours or 2000-0800 hours (waking night). Weekends would also be part of your rota on a rotational basis. It's important to us that you also have a work/life balance, so you will always have your rota at least 4 weeks in advance.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

We're looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid missing out on this opportunity.

Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Dougie Gallacher on 07795390620.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
