The Role and the individuals you'll support
As a relief colleague, you will play an important part in our team, ensuring that we still provide the best care and support possible during times of staff training, holidays and absence.
You will be joining a small, dedicated team of Support Practitioner providing a twenty-four-hour housing support service to two fun loving and chatty ladies in Pollokshaws. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; one of the ladies requires a wheelchair to get around.
Due to the needs of this service, we will need you to have a full UK manual driving licence with one years expereince on the roads.

Shift Patterns
Our team provides support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. If you’re successful in joining our team, your rota will include a combination of longer and shorter day shifts and sleepovers; for example, 8.00 am to 5.30 pm, 8.00 am to 8.30 pm and 8.00 am to 8.00 am sleepover.
Sleepover hours are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
