The Role


As a Support Practitioner, you'll become part of a small, friendly team who provide support to a lady in her own home. You’ll support her with all aspects of daily living, including housework, medication, assistance with personal care and finances. This lady does have a strict dietary regime, so we're looking for someone who has a passion for cooking and the ability to follow recipes whilst being creative with recipies.


The lady we support enjoys socialising, listening to music, pamper days and getting her hair and nails done. She also enjoys going out in her car for drives and meeting up with family and friends for coffee often! We'll need you to take a keen interest in her activities and help her to to help identify new opportunities for participation and inclusion.


For this opportunity, it's essential that you hold a full UK manual driving license as the lady has her own her mobility car which she loves using for drives to the beach and going for coffees.

About You


Here at Cornerstone, we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team, so it's not essential that you already have experience in care or qualification. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees too!


All we’ll need you to bring is: -

  • A caring and compassionate attitude.
  • The ability to work well in a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Confidence in the use of computers.




Shift Patterns


We provide tailored support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a 1:1 basis, so shift patterns will be 1000-1000 hours the next day and will include a sleepover. Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment per sleepover worked.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
