Are you on the lookout for a new flexible job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as our amazing teams in Perth & Blairgowrie are on the look out for new colleagues to join them as relief Support Practitioners.

The Role

Here at Cornerstone, the support that we provide is centred around assisting individuals with disabilities and/or additional support needs to identify and work towards their goals. We work with the individuals to develop personal plans that reflect their choices, individual support needs and capabilities.

As a relief colleague, you will play an important part in our team, ensuring that we still provide the best care and support possible during times of staff training, holidays and absence.

You'll support individuals to manage their own homes, increase and maintain their independence and encourage and support them with their social, health and wellbeing needs.

The people we support all have different hobbies and interests too, so we’ll need you to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure facilities, engage in meaningful activities and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.

Being a Support Practitioner is more than just a job, there’s no better feeling going home after every shift knowing that you’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life.

About You

You don’t need experience in care or qualifications to start your career with us. We are more interested in who you are as a person. We’ll invest in you by providing paid training ; we’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All we’ll need you to bring is:-

  • Great communication skills
  • A positive attitude with a solution focussed approach
  • Good team working skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • A willingness to learn and use new systems and technology
  • The ability to apply good administrative and numeracy skills to ensure that clear, accurate records are evidenced and kept up to date
  • An understanding of the importance of keeping to routines and guidelines
  • The ability to cook

Shift Patterns

We’re dedicated to providing the best 24/7 support possible, so shift patterns for our services involve early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today! We’re waiting to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
