Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every single day?
If you're looking for a part-time or full-time role that’s rewarding, meaningful and never boring, we'd love to hear from you!
We're looking for enthusiastic and caring people to join our fantastic #TeamAngus in Portlethen as Support Practitioners.
Every day is different
Angus Court is a busy housing support service where no two days are ever the same.
You'll become part of a friendly, supportive team helping seven individuals to live happy, fulfilling and as independent lives as possible.
As a Support Practitioner, you'll support people with the things that matter in everyday life, including:
- 🛒 Shopping and managing finances
- 🍳 Cooking and preparing meals
- 📅 Attending appointments
- 🏠 Housework and maintaining their homes
- 💙 Personal care
- 🎨 Hobbies, interests and social activities
But it's about so much more than day-to-day support. It's about getting to know the people you support, building great relationships and helping them enjoy the things they love.
You'll be encouraged to get involved in their interests and activities, whether that's socialising, bowling, arts & crafts, watching soaps or heading out to discos! So, if you're creative, enthusiastic and love getting involved, you could be a great fit for our team.
About you
Ideally, you'll have some experience in a caring, support or similar role, but don't worry if you're new to social care.
We'll give you full training, pay you for your training and provide a supportive team around you every step of the way. We'll also fund your SVQ (SCQF Level 6/7) qualification and your PVG and SSSC registration fees.
We're looking for people who are:
- Caring, compassionate and genuinely want to make a difference
- Friendly and able to work well as part of a team
- Confident working independently and lone working
- Great communicators with good organisational skills
- Positive, reliable and willing to learn
- Comfortable using computers
- Able to follow routines, procedures and guidelines
Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual and include weekends and public holidays. At present, our typical shift patterns usually fall in between the hours of 0800-2200 hours and will include weekends, public holidays and sleepovers on a rotational basis.
🚗 A note about the location
Angus Court is based in Portlethen and has limited public transport options that fit with the shift patterns for this role.
If you don't live in or around Portlethen and don't drive or have access to your own vehicle, please consider how you'll travel to and from your shifts before applying. You'll need to be confident that you can reliably get to work for your scheduled shifts.
😴 Sleepover payments
Our sleepovers are separate from your contracted hours, so you’ll receive an additional payment of £107.60 for every sleepover you work - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.
