SHIFT PATTERN - Working 5 days over 7 on a 5 week rota this would include 2.5 weekends with a mixture of 10.30 to18.30 and 10.00 to 18.00.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of De Paul House service. Located in Govan, DePaul House is a residential support service for young adults transitioning into independent living. Situated in 3 linked properties each of the 9 flats have access to the communal garden and amenities. It is a supportive environment where our residents work towards gaining the necessary skills to secure and maintain a tenancy of their own.
We are looking to recruit a Cook to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be required to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, appetising, and varied meals to the individuals we support, ensuring that you meet specific dietary requirements and daily deadlines. You will ensure the kitchen area and store cupboards are kept to the standard required of the current Food Safety Legislation by means of cleaning schedules. You will also be responsible for the ordering of foodstuffs, supplies and operate a stock control system, ensuring value for money. The work pattern for this position will be agreed with the successful candidate. A relevant catering qualification and have knowledge of Cook safe and Infection Control is essential.

About You
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, creative and wholesome who can deliver mouth watering homecooked meals that any young adult will devour. You will be providing meals for 9 individuals ages between 16-25 with a vast range of likes and dislikes and dietary requirements. You would be required to create menus takings the young adults preference into account We also hold theme nights and during summer months lots of BBQ and outdoor Pizza ovens.
You must be fun loving able to interact with young adults, and provide positive meal time experiences.
DePaul House is an enabling project which may entail you providing cooking and baking lessons. This role is mainly lone working within the kitchen, you must be able to manage your time and workspace, follow and have knowledge of Cook Safe and Food Hygiene legislation. Ability to stock control and to order goods from various suppliers.
Home baking would be an advantage.
