Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your support worker role may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
Sean is a friendly, outgoing person who people naturally enjoy being around. He lives in his own flat in the Bridgeton area since early March 2022. Sean is 42 years old and is a male only service. Sean receives all of his support, whether at home or in the community, from Enable. Sean has a dedicated team of staff that support him 24/7, but depends a lot on his staff to support and prompt him with daily needs such as making his food, showering, going out into the community and taking his medication amongst other daily and personal needs. Sean is a highly active person and enjoys activities such as swimming, walking, listening to music, watching films, going on car journeys with staff and eating out in the community. Sean communicates through speech and often the use of hand gestures as well. He talks often and enthusiastically and is great company. He has mild learning difficulties and some difficulty with a weakness in his right knee so long distance walking can be a challenge. When going out in the community, planning routes and using public transport is very important.
A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
