Hillcrest Futures is recruiting for a Project Worker.

About the Service

Hillcrest Futures are looking to recruit a Project Worker to join The Strive Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Service in Dundee. Strive is delivered in partnership with The Corner in Dundee and supports young people aged 12 to 21 who are using or affected by substance use. In addition to supporting family members, carers or significant others impacted through this. The service provides a holistic intervention to young people across a variety of community settings including supported accommodation, off site and residential as well as providing targeted interventions to mainstream education groups.

Delivering bespoke one to one support over a period of 6-8 weeks working as a collaborative team to support young people to make better informed decisions around their substance use and well-being.

About the Role

The Project Worker will:

  • Provide one-to-one support to young people, you will manage your own cases with support from the service manager
  • Provide Group Education
  • Attend and facilitate at events to represent the service
  • You will be responsible for maintaining accurate case notes and providing information for service reports
  • You will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with other colleagues and other professionals

About You

You will:

  • Hold a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or ability to work towards
  • Have experience of supporting young people who face challenges and have an understanding of child protection and safeguarding
  • Have good communication skills both written and verbal and be competent using IT systems and packages such as word and excel
  • Have a full driving licence and use of a car for work
