Hours

Supervisors work on a condensed repeating schedule as follows:

Week 1 – Monday,Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday

Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Part time supervisors work for half day on a dayshift / backshift rota

Supervisors are required to work every 2nd weekend

The Role

You will be responsible for working in a team to maintain Oran Care's exceptionally high care standards at all times.

It will be your responsibility:

To establish a caring environment for service users through high standards of professional practice and to promote dignity, respect, choice, and self esteem for each individual.

To ensure delivery of a high quality of service at all times.

To ensure that the requirements of the National Care Standards and regulations of Care Inspectorate are adhered to.

To ensure that staff are supported in order to carry out their roles as carers.

Day to Day Activities Include:

  • Managing client referrals including integrating care packages, carrying out care and risk assessments, and working with clients to develop care plans.
  • Put in place, and update when required, Care Plans, Care Folders, Service User Agreements and/or contracts.
  • Carrying out regular care reviews with Clients.
  • Liaising with clients, to promote service user’s rights, promote customer service and to ensure that the very highest standards in home care are delivered.
  • Providing on call support, as and when it is agreed. Ensure accurate recording of all activity during on call periods and ensure all information is accurately passed on and dealt with.
  • As and when required, assisting in the allocation of carers to specific service users in line with their individual needs and the carer’s experience/expertise.
  • As and when required, helping to ensure that all the Homecare staff who work with clients are fully supported to carry out their role effectively
  • Supporting the delivery of Oran Homecare’s Quality Assurance programme, including helping to carry out monthly audits of care plans and home folders and the implementation of any remedial action.
  • Ensuring data regarding clients and staff is recorded correctly using our care monitoring software.
  • Take an active role in the implementation of Oran Homecare Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Ensuring staff supervision and monitoring is carried out in line with Oran Homecare Policy.
  • Involve client’s in supervision process
  • Ensuring safeguarding measures are in place to protect vulnerable adults and older people using the service.
  • Ensuring that all the Homecare staff that work with clients are fully briefed to enable them to carry out their role effectively

Requirements

  • Experience working with adults and older people within a care or community setting (Previous Supervisor Experience is not Required)
  • Working towards SVQ 3 Health and Social Care (We Can Provide This Training If Not Started).
  • Full driving license and appropriate insurance (if required)
  • Enhanced disclosure from Disclosure Scotland and be a PVG scheme member.
  • Eligibility for registration with SSSC or be registered with NMC
