Care to join us? Then come reach your full potential at Quarriers.

Do you have a passion for people and care about helping others live fulfilling lives? We are looking for caring individuals who share Quarriers values.

Quarriers have Investors in People Platinum accreditation.

Glasgow NW Carers Centre provides information and emotional support to families who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend. We are an early intervention service with the aim to enable families to access community supports to continue in their caring role and to maintain a life of their own.

Every caring situation is different. Care may be given to a child, partner, parent or friend and there may be a wide range of reasons why care is required: mental health or physical illness, a long -term condition or additional need, age, disability, substance misuse. We support carers of all ages.

Looking after someone can be an isolating and debilitating experience and we are here to help Carers access the information, advice and support they need to feel more able to cope with their situation, to make positive steps to address difficulties and increase their wellbeing regardless of age, including access to short term one to one support, recreational activities, short breaks, peer support and condition specific information and training.

We work wherever possible with existing community resources in northwest Glasgow to develop a ‘one stop shop’ approach for Carers to access available services. Family Wellbeing Workers listen to the Carer, help them prioritise their needs and access the help they need.

Families can access a ‘Carer Support Plan’ working together to identify need and to provide positive outcomes:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the support I’ve received; you’ve helped tremendously, and it’s been great working with you. Everyone has found something from the support we got, we’re all more understanding of each other and we have enjoyed the break we had too.’’

Glasgow NW Carers Centre is a key Partner in the Glasgow Carers Partnership and the wider northwest Glasgow community which, in addition to learning and development within Quarriers, provides networking and professional development opportunities

We are a small, busy, and supportive Team. Family Wellbeing Workers will manage a caseload and work directly with Carers to achieve agreed outcomes and regularly review milestones. Developing and facilitating group activities and support is also central to this role. There are opportunities for hybrid working.

We have opportunities for 3 temporary Family Wellbeing Workers, for a period of up to 12 months. We a variety of hours available, Full-Time post for 37 hours per week and part time posts between 16 – 30 hours per week. We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience;

· a proven record of working with families and groups to deliver agreed outcomes

· a great communicator, adaptable, self-motivated and organised with excellent research, communication and IT skills

· Passionate and committed to helping carers and their families to have a life outside caring

· Able to develop positive relationships with individuals, including children and young people, with the ability to support and motivate family members to deal with challenges, conflict, and gain confidence to implement change

The successful candidate must have a full current driving licence and access to own transport.
