Your new opportunity

Quarriers are currently recruiting full & part time Intensive Support Practitioners to join our Rivendell is a residential care home for children and is set in an idyllic location Quarriers Village. Rivendell is a 24/7 service who currently supports 4 children who have different support needs such as autism, ADHD, ODD. Some of the children are non-verbal and have complex sensory needs and experienced trauma in their young lives. At Rivendell we adapt the support for each individual child to ensure a safe, calm and nurturing environment is maintained for all, where children can thrive and live their best lives.

As an Intensive Support Practitioner you will work as a team or at times on a 1:2:1 basis with each child. You will be a skilled professional with the ability to use your expertise and adapt support to meet the needs of each individual. Some of the children have complex trauma and can display distressed behavioural and you will be required to offer behavioural support and care when needed. Each day can offer different experiences from taking the children out for the day to enjoy activities and hobbies they express and interest in, to supporting them day-to-day in their own home with cooking, life skills and personal care.

Working pattern: Full or part time permanent contracts available offering 15 to 37 hours per week. Shifts are 7.5 hours per day and you will be required to work various shift patterns to meet the needs of the people we support. These will include early shifts 7am – 2:30pm, late shifts 2pm – 9:30pm and will include working weekends on a rotational basis

What you will need to be considered

  • Essential you hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC. (Please note having both is a requirement, if you do not hold both you must hold 1 and prepared to work towards achieving the other within an agree period)
  • Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written to support recording and reporting
  • Willing to develop and learn where required to support and adapt care based on individual needs.
  • Ability to offer support to Children, Families and young People including enable rights and deliver person centred care and trauma informed approaches.
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Must hold a driving licence
