If so, then we have a great opportunity for you to join Quarriers Youth Housing Support based in Springburn, Glasgow!

Your new opportunity

Quarriers are currently recruiting a full time Transition Mentor (Female Only) to join our dedicated team of mentors who cover support in the North and West of Glasgow.

As a Transition Mentor you will support individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds who have been homeless or threatened with becoming homeless settle into their tenancies. You will provide support and advise with regards to access funding to help their house feel like a home while assisting in the development of individual independent-living skills. Some of the people have experienced trauma in their young lives and you will provide emotional support and built long lasting trusting relationships with each person while encouraging them to achieve their goals and ambitions.

As a Transition Mentor you will put into practice this vision and play a part in making a difference to someone's life each day.

Working pattern There are no night shifts/sleepovers; all QYHS shifts are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm/11am-7pm and Sat-Sun 10am-6pm. Staff are required to visit young people in their own flats, at our 'young person's hub' in Maryhill Community Centre, or elsewhere in the community. Staff can travel with their own cars or use public transport.

This is a full time, permanent role working 39 hours per week.
