Our fabulous team is on the lookout for active and compassionate individuals with the ability to motivate and inspire to join them as Bank Support Practitioners on a sessional basis.

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full and paid training.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new service in Paisley, which supports a sociable young lady with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy who lives with her mother in a self-contained apartment. The young lady enjoys an active lifestyle, including regular outings, visits to the day centre twice a week, attending the Golden Friendship club, and meeting up with friends.

As well as supporting the young lady you’ll be joining our friendly team supporting individuals in the community at our Queen St service, in Paisley, who have a range of different needs including Autism, learning and physical disabilities, forensic, complex needs, alcohol and drug related brain damage and behaviours of concern.

As a Bank Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including support with personal finances, prompts with medication and personal care, going to appointments and activities along with emotional and social support.

You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. With your help. You’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Happily, we can accept non-drivers for these roles!

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide tailored support 24/7 and shift patterns include earlies, lates, sleepovers and will include weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are 11pm until 7am where you will stay in staff accommodation.

The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £99.20.
