Our dynamic and friendly North Ayrshire Community Team based at our Stevenston service are on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in care to join them as a Senior Support Worker on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week).

While your base for this role will be in our office, there will also be opportunities to work from home as well.
The role
The North Ayrshire Community Team provides support to a range of individuals with differing support needs across the region. The service helps the people we support develop daily living skills, this could be personal care, homecare & household tasks, medication, meal preparation or support with cooking meals, shopping and or managing finances, arranging appointments, or accessing their local community.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will coach and mentor your team, providing regular support including supervision and identifying training needs. You will be responsible for producing the monthly rotas, whilst considering budgetary requirements and ensuring that all staff meet their contracted hours. On call duties will be allocated to you on a rotational basis. You will also take up shifts on the frontline on a regular basis as well.
Working alongside the Service Manager, part of your role will include liaising with external health professionals and facilitating meetings with supported individuals and important people in their lives to create accurate and effective person-centred support plan. You’ll effectively match the people we support with staff members, considering the specific outcomes and goals set for each individual.
What we’re looking for;
- Minimum of at least 2 years previous experience of supporting individuals within care.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
- Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
- SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or be willing to work towards your qualification.
- Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, families, healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Ability to motivate and lead others.
Our Senior Support Workers generally work Monday to Friday, however there may be times you’ll need to provide cover for on-call shift work. Based on the needs of the service these could include evenings, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays.
