At The Richmond Fellowship Scotland we make a real difference in supporting people with their everyday lives. We have an exciting opportunity as a Support Practitioner for our Housing Support service in Dennistoun on a full-time basis (39 hours per week).
Due to the nature of the role we can only accept female applicants.
You don’t need previous experience in care, as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.
The role:
Housing Support Dennistoun is a 24-hour service that supports people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Our supported individuals require support with personal care, administering medication and social outings.
You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies, such as going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. With your help, you’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.
To be a Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:
- Have an empathetic and caring nature
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence in using computers
- Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own
- Good organisational skills
Shift Patterns:
Our dedicated team provide tailored support 24/7 and shift patterns include days, evenings, night shifts, weekends and bank/public holidays.
