Our fabulous team are on the lookout for an active and compassionate *female colleague with the ability to motivate and inspire to join them as a Support Practitioner on a full-time, permanent basis (39 hours per week).

You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Johnstone supporting a vibrant and chatty young lady who is moving into her new home. The young lady is using a wheelchair at present and is hoping to develop the skills over time on a 1:1 basis to weigh bear and transfer.

As a Support Practitioner, you will get to know her on a personal basis building a strong trusting, working relationships with her and her team. The young lady has had very limited community involvement over the past few years and is looking for a Support Practitioner who can help her explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation. She has a very committed family, who she enjoys catching up with on a weekly basis.

You’ll be joining our friendly team who provide support to three other individuals that live in their own home in the same building. The people we support have a range of different needs including Mental Health, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries and past trauma. As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including support with personal finances, medication and personal care, going to appointments and activities along with prviding emotional and social support.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide 24/7 support including earlies starting from 7.30am and lates finishing around 10pm, along with sleepovers that supports all individuals in the service from 8:30am to 8:30am the following day. Shift times may vary to suit the needs of the young lady as she settles into her new routine.

The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £99.20.
