Govan Salvation Army Community Church is based in the heart of Govan and provides a space for conversation, food and connection with the local community.

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Cook to join our team to prepare and cook good quality food for guests attending our regular community programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Working alongside the Community Programme and Development Manager, the successful candidate will prepare, cook, present and serve food to recognised high standards ensuring that current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards are maintained. They will help to provide a support programme to vulnerable and marginalised people in the community, working in partnership with other Salvation Army colleagues.

We are seeking an individual who has good knowledge and experience of preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment, up to date knowledge of food hygiene requirements pertaining to food preparation, cooking and storage, proven experience of dealing with general public and providing good customer service, and the ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds. A current food hygiene certificate and be willing to undertake further training as and when required.
