The Salvation Army provides support and emergency accommodation for homeless adults within the Glasgow Area. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Person to join our team in Wallace of Campsie House Lifehouse comprising of 42 flats and 10 bedsits.

Key Responsibilities:

As such person you will deliver a high-quality support service, which promotes client choice and control and ensure clients learn new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcomes. As a Specialist Support Worker, you would work with the wider staff team to share your skills and expertise, which includes developing & promoting our Harm Reduction work.

The Specialist Support Worker also works closely with the Addiction Team, delivering Naloxone training and leading group work.

You will maintain records and submit a monthly report on stats and trends.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the main support needs of homeless and vulnerable clients
  • Skills and knowledge in the area of substance use.
  • Knowledge of the benefit system and an understanding of supported housing funding streams and reporting requirements.
  • Experience of developing and delivering support services.
  • Ability to work in close co-operation with colleagues and external agencies to ensure effective provision of multi – agency services.
  • Understand the principles and application of working in a Trauma Informed way.
  • Level 3 SVQ qualification or equivalent in a related field or a willingness to work towards.
