Salary: £25,440 (Salary Point 22)

About the Role

DBI (Distress Brief Intervention) is a two tiered response; a Level 1 response from frontline partnership agencies (A&E, Primary Care, Police Scotland & Scottish Ambulance Service) and a Level 2 supportive interventions delivered by SAMH. DBI level 2 will be provided by trained staff within SAMH who would contact the person within 24-hours of referral and provide compassionate community problem solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supported connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days to individuals aged 16 and over.


What we are looking for

We are looking for DBI Practitioner’s in our Borders Service. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives and support them to achieve their identified outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable.


The core hours for these positions are Monday to Friday 10-6pm but you will be required to flexible in the hours, to cover evenings and weekends where required. You will provide support over the phone and face to face, so this will involve travel across the Scottish Borders area, access to your own transport essential.
