About the Role

North Lanarkshire Council funds SAMH to deliver the Step Up Service, supporting people with mental health problems and additional barriers throughout North Lanarkshire. The SAMH National Employment Team operates high quality services to support people to access and sustain employment, education, training or volunteering goals. The overall aim of the service is to improve employment prospects for people by delivering a holistic employment-focused specialist mental health support service, including tailored group workshops and one to one appointments with your caseload.


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team and make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support.


What we are looking for

Experience in supporting people to find and sustain employment, training or voluntary work is critical to this role, as is an understanding of mental health problems. The role will take in the areas of North Lanarkshire and will require travel to meet with our clients. Access to a car is essential.


You will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and be confident in facilitating group work. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with mental health problems, support planning, and supporting individuals to achieve their goals. Although supporting customers into employment, training or voluntary work is the ultimate aim of this contract, SAMH’s role as a specialist provider focusses on equipping customers with the skills and confidence to take them closer to the jobs market.
