About the Role

The SAMH National Employment Service operates high quality services to support customers to access and sustain employment. As part of our package of Employability products, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the service and make a positive impact on the lives of the individuals we support:-

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a widely recognised supported employment model that provides a partnership approach to meet the needs of the individual. Working closely with the integrated adult community mental health services in West Dunbartonshire, you will manage a caseload of individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems in securing and sustaining paid employment.

What we are looking for

A passion to support the aspirations of people affected by mental health problems

• Ability to network with professionals within support organisations, employers and other stakeholders

• An understanding of the local labour market would be advantageous

• Confident working to targets while maintaining a compliant and quality focused service

• Able to work independently and as part of the wider team

• Good attention to detail and IT skills

You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of best practice in employability and employment services and/or a working knowledge of mental health. Experience of IPS in particular would be an advantage, but full IPS training will be provided. We are looking for initiative, creativity, energy and determination and the ability to motivate, develop and inspire individuals to develop their self-confidence and realise their aspirations. You will be a self-starter, thrive in a multi-agency setting and have an appetite to promote this innovative approach.
