Salary: £23,400 - £23,624 pro rata, £12.00 - £12.11 (Salary point 13-19)

Contract: Fixed term until March 2026

About the Role

The Recovery Coach at our in-reach service is a flexible multi-skilled role providing direct emotional wellbeing and practical support to individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The role will be based in a low security unit in Stratheden Hospital, working with people on an individual or group basis, in the ward and in a community setting.

The Recovery Coach will work with individuals to identify strengths and issues and goals, encourage individuals to recognise and use their existing strengths, support building new skills and utilise coaching approaches to build momentum in self-management, personal recovery and building capacity. Assessing individual’s strengths and needs, the Recovery Coach will link individuals with meaningful supports within their community. Recovery Coaches will be a role model of recovery and optimism.

This work is about helping people with Severe and enduring Mental Health disorders to live well and achieve the things in life that really matter to them. This service is commissioned by Fife Council and supports people living with severe and enduring mental health issues, to live fulfilled lives and achieve their goals. This exciting opportunity working in partnership with Fife Health and Social Care Partnership will use recovery focussed interventions to support patients to achieve their long-term rehabilitation needs and subsequent transfer of care to community-based settings through structured social activities both within and out with the clinical area. SAMH will work with established statutory partners to implement the in-reach service, enhancing treatment and support provided by NHS Fife with clinical staff and multi-disciplinary team input, leading to greater engagement. This is done through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and review of patients’ requirements.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for people with great people skills who are honest, reliable and resilient in challenging situations. Ideally for this role you will have experience supporting people with mental health problems, key-working and case management.

Everyone we support is different and we use individually tailored plans to help them to identify where their strengths lie and support them in the areas where they may need it. In this role your attitude and personality matter as much as your skills and experience. We are looking for initiative, compassion, energy and determination and the ability to motivate and inspire people who use our services to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations. You will be based in Stratheden Hospital and will be required to work flexibly across other local area services.
