About the Role

SAMH provides supported accommodation services in Fife. The services is run across two sites in Fife (Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy), and is registered as Care at Home with Housing support.

You will be required to work at both locations. You should be able to provide direct support to individuals in homes and communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Support is focused on enabling people to build on their existing skills or develop new skills, increase their self-esteem and confidence, which in turn will encourage involvement and promote independence. This is achieved by using interpersonal and motivational skills to help an individual explore options, the possible outcomes/ consequences and make an informed choice based on this.

What we are looking for

You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable but not essential as is experience working with people who have had long term hospital admissions. This role involves shift working, including evening’s weekends and sleepovers.
