*whilst this is a scale for progression, the starting salary is point 34

About the role of Service Manager

Fife Supported Accommodation & Housing Support Services provide support to people who have severe and enduring mental health problems and common co-morbities, such as neurodevelopmental conditions, to live fulfilled lives and achieve their goals. We use recovery focussed interventions, supporting people to develop skills and positive support networks towards living an independent life in the community. The services offer direct emotional wellbeing and practical support to individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing within a recovery coaching model. Working with people on a 1-2-1 or group basis, in people’s homes and communities, we work with individuals to identify their strengths, issues and goals. We encourage individuals to recognise and use their existing strengths, facilitate building new skills to build momentum in independent living skills, self-management, personal recovery and building capacity. Assessing individuals’ strengths and needs, the service will link people with meaningful supports within their community. We provide services seven days a week throughout Fife, with offices based in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.

What we are looking for

The Service Manager will provide positive leadership and management while demonstrating and evidencing the following;

  • Leading and managing teams to ensure safe and effective provision of support to those people who use the service through the promotion of outcomes focused person-centred approaches
  • Reporting and evaluating of operational service delivery demonstrating delivery and development
  • Experience establishing effective partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Compliance with relevant, legislation, contracts and service specifications, SAMH policies and ensuring practice reflects current research findings
  • Effective and efficient management of all resources
  • Contributing to the wider work of SAMH to support the achievement of SAMH strategic objectives

Supporting the people who use our services means there are a variety of shift patterns including evenings, weekends, waking nights and on-calls. Main hours of working for a Service Manager will be Monday – Friday however post requires flexibility to meet demands of service.

To be successful in this post you will meet the essential criteria, core competencies behaviour and skills listed in the role profile and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering outcomes for vulnerable adults; and knowledge and experience of working in the field of mental health and wellbeing.
