About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for support workers to join our team at SAMH Glenlora Service. We are looking for support workers to be part of our innovative service which makes a positive impact on the lives of the people who use the service. Glenlora Care Home service offers support to 8 individuals in the Priest hill area of Glasgow who are currently homeless and experiencing poor mental health and current addiction issues.

As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a significant different to the lives of those experiencing difficulties, often in relation to poor mental health, current addiction or homelessness. You will carry key-worker responsibility through which you will, with management support assess, implement and lead on individuals care and support. Support is continually reviewed in line with person centred outcome focused action plans. This role is both rewarding and an excellent opportunity to continue professional development.

What we are looking for

Your attitude and personality matter as much as your skills and experiences. We are looking for initiative, creativity, energy and determination and the ability to motivate and inspire service users to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations. We require individuals who can demonstrate resilience and are confident managing challenging situations.

You will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems and/or addiction. The post involves evening work which is covered on a rota basis.
