Salary: £25,430 – £25,947 (Salary Points 13-19*) Plus Sleepover Enhancement for every sleepover completed and On Call Payments

*whilst this is a scale for progression, the starting salary is point 13

About the Role of Support Worker 2

SAMH Easterhill Service is looking for a support worker 2 to be part of an innovative service which makes a positive impact on the lives of the people who use the service.

Based in Tollcross near Tollcross park, Easterhill service uses recovery focussed interventions, supporting people to develop skills and positive support networks towards living an independent life in the community.

A support Worker is a flexible multi-skilled role within a team, carrying out key-worker responsibility for a few service users, and individual support providing direct emotional wellbeing and day to day practical support with daily living tasks, medication to individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing. You will support people to develop outcome-focused action plans, carrying out assessments and reviews and contribute to the facilitation and development of therapeutic groups. The team work with people on a 1-2-1 or group basis, in people’s homes and communities to assess and identify strengths and needs, issues and goals; finding meaningful supports and connections in their community. You be part of a team supporting individuals to recognise and use their existing strengths, support building new skills in self-management, personal recovery and capacity.

Support Workers support the people who use our service in partnership with mental health services and primary health care services, enabling individuals to achieve their chosen outcomes and practice a recovery focussed model of working.

Everyone we support is different and we use individually tailored plans to help them to identify where their strengths lie and support them in the areas where they may need it. We are looking for initiative, compassion, energy and determination and the ability to motivate and inspire people who use our services to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations. We will ask you to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We’re looking for people with great people skills who are honest, reliable and resilient in challenging situations.

Do you have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and knowledge and experience in supporting people? Ideally for this role you will have experience supporting people with mental health problems, key-working and case management.

Supporting the people who use our services means there are a variety of shift patterns on a rota basis including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and on-calls. You will be allocated to a service base but be required to work flexibly across local services.
