About the Role

SAMH Way Forward is a recovery-focused service supporting people to live independently across Govan, Broomhill and Maryhill. This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker 2 TEC to join the TEC service.

Support Workers encourage independence and uphold privacy, dignity and choice while providing mental health social care and complex needs support. Key activities include providing remote support using the Just Roaming technology system, out-of-hours support to people across SAMH & external services and quality support through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and review. Also supporting clients at home and in the community to build independence and be involved in decisions about their care and providing quality support through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and review.

What we are looking for:

The service supports people to achieve their goals, manage daily living & medication. Staff promote independent living by helping clients identify goals, improve quality of life and recovery, and reconnect with primary healthcare and community services. We use tailored support plans to build on each person’s strengths and meet their needs. We’re looking for people with initiative, compassion, energy and determination who can motivate others to build skills, confidence and achieve their aspirations. The role can be challenging, but you’ll know your work makes a difference.

Your attitude, values and personality matter as much as your skills. No specific qualifications are needed at first, but you need the right attitude and values - respect, dignity, strong people skills, honesty, reliability and resilience.

You will work a variety of shift patterns including evenings, weekends, waking nights and on-calls. You will work across the aforementioned sites. The service operates 365 days a year.
