About the Role

SAMH Way Forward is a recovery focused service with a view to supporting people to live as independently as possible across the Govan, Broomhill and Maryhill areas of Glasgow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join the team at Way Forward as part of a new TEC service.

The Team Leader Tec will support the team in:

  • Providing remote support and assistance to all Service Users, using the Just Roaming technology system.
  • To provide out of hours support to the individuals supported SAMH Way Forward.
  • Supporting clients in their homes and the community and encourage them to participate in activities for independent living and to be involved in decisions that affect them.
  • Provide quality support services to clients through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and review of their requirements in partnership with them.
  • Promote the work of SAMH and the work of the service in order to enhance delivery of services to clients.
  • To ensure that services provided comply with standards set by SAMH, our values of respect, dignity and equality, and meet the contractual or partnership requirements of relevant external agencies.

The Team Leader TEC will also provide direction and guidance to a team supporting individuals within individual flats and their communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Way Forward supports people with complex mental health issues in all aspects of their day-to-day living offering emotional and practical support to encourage them to live fulfilled and meaningful lives. Working with service users to define their own support plans, the Team Leader TEC will coordinate, evaluate and review this support while providing mentorship to Practitioners.

The Team Leader will support Way Forward with the aim of the service to provide accommodation to service users assessed as requiring intensive support with levels of physical care, personal finances, personal and domiciliary hygiene and ongoing compliance with their care and support package. We also aim for service users to resettle within the community and work towards sustainable solutions in response to multiple and complex need.

The Team Leader will have full line management responsibility for staff across the service. They will report directly to the Service Manager and be responsible for the implementation of, and adherence to, all SAMH policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of the SAMH Corporate Strategy at a team level. Full line management responsibility for staff. Designated budgetary and financial management with the service. Implementation and adherence to all SAMH policies and procedures.

1. To work with the innovative Just Roaming Technology systems to monitor & report patterns and trends of Service Users to enhance support planning and inform reports for other department purposes.

2. Provide a response to the people we support, responding to TEC systems in place Just Checking and Just Roaming.

3. Will co-operate with the Operational Leadership Team to deliver the range of SAMH national programmes and enabling strategies within the team.

4. Will participate within the network of locally based key stakeholders including commissioners, Community Health Partnerships, Community Planning Partnerships and voluntary sector representatives.

5. Will ensure delegated budgets operate within organisational monitoring and reporting arrangements.

6. Will ensure compliance with SAMH policies and procedures.

7. To ensure that all activity enshrines the organisational values and reflect the principles of participation, recovery, dignity, equality and Human Rights.

8. To support the work of the Operational Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of the corporate strategy through the delivery of objectives and targets.

9. To contribute to the implementation of a continuous improvement framework relating to regulation and contract monitoring.

10. To ensure the participation of the people who use SAMH services is evident in all aspects of service delivery.

11. To ensure SAMH policy is adhered to with regards to supervision and annual appraisal.

12. To provide direct support to service users as per the service specification

What we are looking for

Experience

  • Experience in leading, managing and developing teams (D)

Qualifications

  • SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (D)

The service operates 7 days a week throughout the year and includes waking nights, however flexibility will be required as the post may require some occasional evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the service and those we support as well as On Call participation.

The post will involve travel across various locations in Glasgow so a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
