Are you looking for a rewarding career? Then come join our team in Orkney and you can support autistic adults to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives!

The Opportunity:

Autism Practitioners within Orkney work alongside the Senior Autism Practitioner and team members to develop personalised support plans as well as building positive relationships with the supported individuals, their families, health professionals and other stakeholders to ensure the supported individuals life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support. As an Autism Practitioner, experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential as we are seeking to appoint people who share our values, COLLABORATION, COMPASSION, CHANGE MAKERS, CONTRIBUTION, and have an interest in building relationships. We will support you to learn and develop within the role and offer an extensive autism specific training programme.

On a day to day basis, Autism Practitioners enable supported individuals to take part in their chosen activities, maintain their tenancies and support individuals to make informed choices that matter. Required support may include personal care, promoting independence and active citizenship, support with household chores etc. You can also expect to be out and about supporting each individual to access and engage in the local community and to take part in activities such as going to the cinema or swimming at the Pickaquoy Centre, walk along beautiful beaches or visiting Busters Diner for a bite to eat. As well as special local events throughout the year

What we offer you:

Staff wellbeing is priority and we strive to ensure all colleagues feel valued and supported at work.

We provide an excellent benefits package which includes a competitive salary, personalised learning pathway for all, pension scheme, discount platform and our fantastic Employee Assistance Programme.

We encourage and welcome applications from people with lived experience of autism and have an employee assistance forum.

Please note all new employees must register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting in post and support to achieve registration will be provided.

Closing Date: 12th June 2023
