A key expectation of everyone who works for Scottish Autism is that they live and breathe our values; Collaboration, Change Makers, Compassion and Contribution. Our values come into play throughout everything we do at work – how we work together, and how we deliver services to the people we support and to the people we work alongside.
The procurement function provides proactive and effective support and information to stakeholders across Scottish Autism and beyond. To achieve this the postholder will actively promote a positive procurement culture across the organisation and act as a key member of the Business Services Team to support the development and delivery of Procurement best practice initiatives across all services.
About the job:
We have a Procurement Manager opportunity within our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will provide leadership, and operational management to the wider organisation, when necessary, to ensure Procurement best practice and compliance is embedded within the organisation.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that it achieves value for money and is in line with Scottish Autism’s defined Financial Regulations.
- Lead and influence through partnership, to ensure the correct levels of participation and collaboration to achieve the best value outcome when large one-off purchases are required.
- Identify, build and manage relationships through effective communication with all stakeholders, including third parties, and acting as the primary point of contact for Scottish Autism’s procurement process.
- Negotiate with suppliers to establish and, where appropriate, vary contracts, including changes to price, terms and conditions and service agreements
About You:
You will be:
- Reflective and open to learning and listening, with an ability to see the bigger picture in terms of systems and potential impacts.
- Able to challenge existing practices, translating ideas into actions and to lead initiatives.
- A good communicator and organiser, with the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload within a constantly changing environment.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated
- A problem solver, taking ownership of problems to ensure resolution.
You will be a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIP) with relevant experience in a similar procurement role, preferably in a 3rd sector organisation including negotiating with, vetting and selecting suppliers. Evidence of fostering and maintaining strong supplier relationships and experience of using excel, creating formulae and producing reports is essential.
