The finance team provides proactive and effective support and information to stakeholders across Scottish Autism and beyond. They achieve this by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and advice to meet those needs, and the maintenance of robust financial systems and controls.

About the job:

We have a permanent Senior Finance Business Partner opportunity within our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the finance leadership team. You will work collaboratively with finance and non-financial colleagues to partner leaders and their teams across the business.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the Financial Controller, providing operational and strategic insights to promote the effective leadership of the finance team
  • Enable optimal commercial and strategic decisions through providing proactive, timely and effective support across the business, interpreting financial information and guidance, and with an appropriate degree of challenge to the business
  • Prepare, consolidate and present forecasts, budgets and longer-term financial plans, working together with departments. Analysing, commenting on and challenging proposed plans throughout the process
  • Lead the annual budget setting process, translating business intelligence and needs into robust annual budgets
  • Provide line management support, advice and guidance to the Senior Finance Officer.

You will be a fully qualified Accountant (candidates qualified by experience may be considered) with evidence of up-to-date knowledge and relevant management and cost accounting experience. You will have experience of systems optimisation and process improvement within a business partnering / commercial support environment and practical application of accounting of regulations and guidance.
