Sense Scotland is looking to recruit a Waken Night Shift Support Practitioner(s) offering 10 hour shifts (10pm to 8am) on a part time or full time basis. Shifts will be covered via a staff rota system and will include weekends and public holidays. A flexible working arrangement will be considered if fitting to the needs of the service.

Please note: Flexibility is required whereby occasional day shift working will be mandatory for training and team building. Applicants will be notified after the closing date by email.

Set within the rural village of Bridge of Earn, 4 miles from the city of Perth we have an enthusiastic support team providing 24hr care to people living with complex needs (such as learning disabilities, complex epilepsy, autism and down syndrome) within their own home.

This is a Waking Night Support role based within Bridge of Earn area of Perthshire. You will play a key role in providing tailored support to individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities. This role will involve lone working as well as being part of a team, ensuring the appropriate support is given in line with risk assessments and support plans whilst also carrying out a few critical allocated tasks, such as:

  • Carry out "keeping safe checks" at regular intervals to ensure the person we support is safe and comfortable.
  • Ensure that her environment is clean and sanitary.
  • Supporting with morning and night routines.
  • You will keep written records, using IT systems as required, including but not limited to updating support plans, incident logs and health and safety records.
  • Creating a calm therapeutic environment for the people we support.
  • Helping the people we support with aspects of daily living, including personal care, feeding, meal preparation and medication assistance.

Full training and induction before starting is provided, along with work shadowing. You will be joining an established team who are friendly and welcoming.
