About the role
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and experienced Arts Tutor to develop and deliver engaging visual arts, tactile arts and music opportunities for people with sensory and complex disabilities.
Working closely with colleagues, families and the wider creative community, you will help expand meaningful arts opportunities while sharing your skills and expertise to strengthen arts provision across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Individuals We Support: Offer arts as a medium for enhancing communication, self-expression, confidence, and well-being. Adapt activities to maximise engagement and participation.
- Development: Design and deliver a wide range of arts activities, participate in regular supervision and training, and continuously develop your skills and practice.
- Administrative: Provide written and photographic evidence of progress, assist with feedback, maintain registers, and ensure health and safety standards are met.
- General: Collaborate with families, staff, volunteers, and external agencies, always working in line with our organisational values.
Essential criteria
- Proven track record in designing and delivering arts sessions for both individuals and groups.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the people we support.
- Willingness and ability to use a variety of communication methods tailored to individual preferences.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A positive team player who can support and collaborate with colleagues.
- Hold a UK driving licence and be in a position to drive for work purposes.
Desirable criteria
- A degree in an arts-related discipline.
- Awareness of how disabilities can impact a person’s life.
- Experience in a related setting or with disabled individuals.
- Familiarity with inclusive arts mediums.
