Talbot Association is seeking a committed and values-driven
Service Leader (Registered Manager) to lead and manage one of our regulated care services. This is an exciting opportunity to provide strong, compassionate leadership while ensuring high-quality, person-centred, and rights-based care.
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, governance, and quality of the service in line with Care Inspectorate requirements and relevant legislation.
You will:
- Act as the Registered Manager with the Care Inspectorate
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
- Provide visible, values-based leadership to the staff team
- Lead service improvement and inspection preparation
- Oversee safe recruitment, workforce development, and supervision
- Ensure safeguarding and adult protection responsibilities are met
- Manage delegated budgets and resources responsibly
- Participate in the organisation’s on-call rota
You will create and sustain a culture rooted in dignity, respect, inclusion, equality, and human rights, ensuring that people using the service experience safe, compassionate and outcome-focused support.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent)
- Management qualification at SCQF Level 8 or above (or willingness to achieve within SSSC timescales)
- Eligibility for registration with SSSC as Manager of a Care Service
Essential Experience
- Experience working in a regulated care service
- Experience leading and managing staff
- Experience in care planning, risk assessment, and quality assurance
Essential Knowledge
- Health and Social Care Standards
- Care Inspectorate regulatory framework
- Adult Support and Protection legislation
- SSSC Codes of Practice
- Self-evaluation and service improvement methodology
You will be a confident leader with strong decision-making skills, emotional resilience, and a commitment to continuous professional learning.
Registration Requirements
This post requires registration with:
- Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- Care Inspectorate (as Registered Manager)
You must meet and maintain fitness-to-practise requirements.
