As a Recovery Mentor you will be supporting individuals in their recovery journey within the Well Bean Recovery Cafes across Angus. You will support our partnership agency; Hillcrest Futures with the running of the Well Bean Cafes.
For this role we are looking for candidates with lived experience of substance use.
The mentor will support the running of the recovery Well Bean Recovery Cafes in the current three locations; Forfar, Arbroath, and Montrose. Responsibilities may include; collection of food, set up of cafe space, clean-up of space and providing one-to-one and or group support. You will offer support for individuals who are in recovery, supporting personal development and helping to create pathways to engagement with relevant support services and meaningful social and community-based activities.
The Cafes are a key part in supporting those in recovery to overcome barriers; they help create trusting relationship between workers and the individuals in the recovery community. They provide a safe space where support and encouragement can be provided to empower individuals to take charge of their lives and access and maintain engagement with relevant support and services. Sometimes the cafes are simply a place to find warmth, food, and company. Your role would be to work in collaboration with partnership agencies to ensure all feel welcome, safe, and supported within the cafe setting.
