Job Details
We are looking for one female* to join a dedicated team of PAs that supports a busy happy go lucky young man who has cerebral palsy, global development delay and epilepsy. This is a permanent post and is for 20hrs per week.
Typically, shifts on days when he is not at the centre (Wednesdays, Thursday , Saturday and Sundays) can be 9am - 5pm or 5 – 10pm, followed by a sleepover.
The team plan and agree the rolling rota in advance.
About this opportunity
This young man attends a day centre 3 days a week. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the theatre, cinema, out for walks, listening to music. He loves his food and enjoys going out for meals and is particularly fond of a certain well-known burger chain!
He is very close to his family and has days out and holidays with them which includes his support team.
He has his own unique way of communication through expression and how he vocalises, and it is important that his team take the time to get to know him well and understand all his needs. He does have epilepsy that may require emergency rescue medication. He uses a wheelchair and requires all aspects of support with personal care.
On the days he attends his day service (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday), support is provided from 7 - 9am and from 3 -10pm followed by a sleepover.
