Personal Assistant (Support Worker)

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Make a real difference while having fun, building relationships, and supporting someone to live the life they choose.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic Personal Assistants to support a gentleman who lives in Craigmillar. There are 16 hours available, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.

About the Person

He is warm, sociable, and has a great sense of humour. He enjoys spending time with people, having a chat, and sharing a laugh. He takes pride in his appearance, values his independence, and enjoys being an active part of his local community.

He has a busy and varied lifestyle and loves getting out and about. Some of his favourite activities include:

  • Going to the disco on Saturday nights
  • Pottery and creative activities
  • Swimming and keeping active
  • Going out for lunch or dinner

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, patient, and reliable
  • Confident supporting someone to achieve their goals and maintain their independence
  • A good communicator who can recognise and respond to individual needs
  • Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and sleepovers

Experience supporting people who communicate through behaviour is essential. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can take a person-centred approach, build trust, and provide support in a way that respects the person's choices, strengths, and individuality.
