Trust Housing Association has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Care at Home Worker to join our friendly and supportive team at Glen Iosal in Tobermory. This dual‑role post combines 16 hours as a Senior Care at Home Worker and 12 hours as a Care at Home Worker, offering variety, responsibility and real impact around Tobermory and the island of Mull.

You’ll support older and vulnerable tenants to live independently in their own homes, supervising Care at Home Workers while also delivering hands‑on care. Duties include personal care, medication support, light housework, record keeping and providing compassionate, person‑centred support in line with individual care plans. Shifts are worked on a rota basis between 7am and 10pm, including weekdays and weekends.

  • What we offer:
  • Permanent, part time working over a mixture of week days and weekends in day and back shifts
  • Competitive Living Wage Employer hourly rates paid across two bandings:
  • 12 hours as Care at Home Worker at £14.04 per hour.
  • 16 hours as Senior Care at Home Worker at £16.05 per hour.
  • This equates to £22,114 per annum when combining both rates at 28 hours weekly.
  • Paid training, SVQ opportunities and ongoing development
  • Uniform, generous annual leave, pension contributions
  • Paid SSSC registration and PVG checks
  • Supportive, inclusive culture with genuine career progression

About you:

You’ll be caring, approachable and committed to making a positive difference. Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training is provided. Strong communication skills, basic IT skills and a willingness to work towards (or hold) an SVQ in Health & Social Care are important.

Join Trust and be part of a passionate team delivering high‑quality care where it matters most.

Please note this role is subject to satisfactory interview, references and a PVG check. You will be required to register with the SSSC, complete mandatory training within a timeframe and the commitment to studying for an SVQ in Care & Support if you do not already hold this qualification.

We encourage all applicants to study the provided job description to familiarise themselves with the role and the duties involved.

We can only accept candidates residing in the UK who already have the right to work documents. All applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and if successful will need to provide evidence. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorships for international applicants, or candidates currently working in the UK on a sponsored visa as we are unable to assist with renewal upon expiry.

Our online application should be submitted no later than 12 noon on Thursday 30th April 2026.

If you live in Tobermory or close by, are friendly, approachable, and committed to making a positive impact, then we want to hear from you!
