Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives? Come and join Wheatley Care’s Renfrewshire SDS service as a Health and Wellbeing Co‑ordinator.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, person‑centred environment and is passionate about empowering people to take control of their own support. As part of our Renfrewshire SDS Mental Health team, you’ll work alongside individuals using Self‑Directed Support to design flexible, creative and meaningful support plans that help them live well, stay connected and achieve their personal goals.
A key part of the role involves holding your own keywork caseload, allowing you to build strong, trusting relationships and deliver truly person‑centred support. Through this direct work, you’ll gain deep insight into people’s needs and aspirations, which you’ll use to guide and influence the wider team’s practice. You’ll coordinate high‑quality mental health support across the full Renfrewshire Local Authority, promoting independence, recovery and wellbeing. The service operates with weekend shift patterns and a 9‑day fortnight, offering a balanced and predictable working rhythm while still meeting the needs of the people we support. Every day brings something different, from helping people navigate SDS options to collaborating with partners across health, social work and community networks.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, compassion and a genuine commitment to improving people’s lives. You’ll have experience in health or social care and be confident working both independently and as part of a dynamic team. You’ll understand the principles of Self‑Directed Support and be passionate about enabling people to shape their own care.
You’ll bring strong communication skills, a trauma‑informed approach and the ability to build trust quickly. You’ll be comfortable supporting people with a range of mental health needs and confident in coordinating personalised support that promotes resilience, wellbeing and recovery. Your ability to keywork individuals while also guiding colleagues in delivering consistent, person‑centred practice will be central to your success in this role.
