About the Role

Wheatley Care is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that enables people to live fulfilling and independent lives. We are currently looking for a Health and Wellbeing Team Leader to join our Accommodation & Alcohol Support Service (Fordneuk).

Fordneuk provides accommodation and support for people experiencing homelessness, with a dedicated team working closely with individuals to address the challenges they face, including substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) and mental health issues. The service focuses on creating a stable, supportive, and inclusive environment where people feel secure, respected, and valued.

Through a person-centred approach, staff provide tailored support to help individuals overcome barriers, build independence, and improve their overall wellbeing, with the aim of moving towards securing a permanent home.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, support, and engagement. You will work closely with individuals, staff, and partner agencies to co-design personalised, outcome-focused support.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support a team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Promote a risk enablement approach, supporting individuals to make informed choices
  • Ensure individual outcome plans are co-created, regularly reviewed, and focused on independence and recovery
  • Support individuals to access community resources, services, and opportunities
  • Work in partnership with external agencies, including health and social care professionals
  • Deliver supervision, coaching, and training to staff to support continuous development
  • Maintain effective communication, record-keeping, and reporting standards
  • Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Promote a safe, inclusive environment focused on wellbeing, recovery, and resilience

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, including alcohol support
  • Previous experience leading or supporting a team
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships and promote teamwork
  • Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and outcome-focused support
  • Ability to motivate others and create a positive, solution-focused environment

Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Registration (or willingness to register) with the SSSC
