The Promise Project is an exciting new service that is being set up to ensure the successful implementation of The Promise ethos in Action for Children services across Scotland.  

We are looking for a Participation Worker to focus on gaining the best results and improve outcomes for care experienced Children and Young People. You will identify gaps, address weaknesses in the system, develop plans for system changes and implement new strategies by fully involving children and young people.  

The role will involve occasional travel within Scotland however initially will be delivered remotely and travel expectations can be discussed at interview (Any additional travel costs will be covered). 

You will help our Children and Young People by:  

-Developing Promise Plans for system change at both an organisational and local level. 

-Leading on coproduction methods/strategies to fully involve children, young people and families. 

-Reviewing/redesigning organisational processes/systems. 

-Creating resources and toolkits/guidance e.g., values-based recruitment, Children and Young people Rights and Wellbeing Assessment. 

-Developing a network of staff champions (‘Promise Keepers'), with ongoing support/direction. 

-Harnessing expertise and resources of other Action for Children teams. 

-Embedding a Train-the-Trainer approach, upskilling our workforce to #KeepThePromise, whilst equipping staff to train/guide others. 

-Leading a programme of internal/external capacity-building. 

What are we looking for from you: 

-Lived/care experience in a personal environment.  

-Clean driving licence and access to a car. 

-Experience of facilitating group sessions with young people and adults. 

-Knowledge of Improvement methodology/project evaluation. 

-Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, interpersonal. 

-IT literate and able to use a range of platforms eg: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams. 

-Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and overnight travel to other parts of Scotland. 

-SVQ III Children & Young People or equivalent.
