Nursery Manager

We are looking for a part time Nursery Manager to work 4 mornings a week, throughout the year, in our community run Early Years PreSchool setting.

The successful candidate will show strong leadership with great interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate well with parents, staff, children and the wider community. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm and have a passion for care and education of children in a pre-school environment using current Early Years pedagogy and best practice. Organisational and leadership skills are of upmost importance. Experience in a similar setting is essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop a stable, friendly, and trusting relationship with the children and their families.
• Ensure the effective and efficient day to day running of the nursery.
• Participate in planning sessions & meetings with other staff members.
• Work in accordance with Early Years Scotland guidelines.
• Fulfil the role of Designated Child Protection Officer.
• Work as part of a team and support staff, volunteers and helpers.
• Attend relevant training.
• Take a lead role in developing and resourcing the nursery.
• Have relevant management experience.

You need:

• Experience of working with in an Early Years setting
• BA in Childhood Practice, or be in the process of obtaining this qualification.
• To be SSSC/ GTC/ registered.
• To be able to inspire and lead a team with confidence.
• To have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
