Common Thread have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to join our Senior Management Team, a role that offers real prospect to inspire and influence positive change.

The Role:

The successful applicant will lead a team of House Mangers and Residential Services across a geographical area in Scotland. This is a key leadership role in our organisation, responsible for creating stable, safe and caring environments for the young people in our care.

Common Thread have 14 Residential Child Care homes across Scotland. The successful candidate will be joining an existing senior management team and an organisation who believe in supporting their staff. You will have responsibility for a small cluster of our homes across the central belt of Scotland and support the development of these services to meet the needs of the children we care for.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within residential child care or relevant field
  • Relevant professional qualifications in Social Work/Social Care. SVQ level 4 Social Services (Children and Young People), SVQ Leadership and Management for Care Services Level 4 are desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
  • Ability to manage a team of House Managers with empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to work flexibly participating in on call which will involve some weekend working.
  • Full UK driving license
