We are seeking to recruit an experienced, dedicated and highly motivated Nursery Manager to join and lead our team in Inverness, ensuring that all children are provided with the highest quality early learning and childcare.

Limetree Children’s Nursery and After School Club is a 44-place setting, providing flexible, high-quality early learning and childcare for children aged 2 to 5 years in our Nursery and for primary school aged children in our After School Club. We believe all children deserve the best early start in life. Our successful candidate will have an enthusiastic and pro-active mindset with a positive attitude and have the ability to lead the team to form strong and supportive relationships with parents, children and team members. Candidates must have a passion for working in early years and have experience, knowledge and understanding of learning through play. Knowledge and understanding of current documentation, in particular Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence – Early Level, My World Outdoors, A Quality Framework for Daycare of children, childminding and school-aged childcare, Funding Follows the Child and the National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare providers, is a must. You will be well supported to inspire the learning of the children in our setting.

You will be required to lead self-evaluation in the nursery and develop and lead improvement and curricular planning. You will lead and manage staff and liaise with parents and multi-agency teams to plan for children’s learning and development. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately with colleagues, and who have a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for children.

We operate between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, 46 weeks of the year. The hourly rate is in the range of £16 to £20 and is dependant on experience and qualification held. You will be required to work 30 hours per week. Employee working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service.

Candidates are required to hold or be working towards a BA in Childhood Practice, or other relevant childcare qualification equivalent to SCQF level 9. The qualification/s will enable candidates to register with Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) as a Manager of a Day-Care of Children’s Service. A list of qualifications can be found on the SSSC Website. Candidates should, on an individual basis, ensure they are able to register with the SSSC prior to applying for the post. Candidates will be responsible for their own registration fees.

Candidates invited to interview will be required to write and submit a presentation ahead of the interview.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made the setting.
