About Little Flyers
Thank you for taking the time to look at our role. Little Flyers is a family-run nursery where people genuinely matter. We listen to our managers, encourage new ideas, and trust our teams to shape their setting without micromanagement. Every colleague brings unique strengths, and we actively support these to be shared across our nurseries.
You will be backed by an experienced Senior Management Team covering Operations, Learning & Development, Quality Assurance, and Business Support. This structure is designed to reduce pressure on the Nursery Manager so you can focus on what really counts – leading your team and providing exceptional experiences for children and families.
Our owner Sharon is passionate about sustainable, high-quality childcare and is an advocate for SEYA. At Little Flyers our mission is simple:
- to help every child reach their full potential
- to support and guide parents and carers
- to recognise, value, and invest in our workforce
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and caring Nursery Manager to lead our established team of practitioners. You will have the opportunity to take real ownership of the setting while being part of a supportive wider group of three Little Flyers nurseries.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring outstanding practice, strong leadership, and a warm, nurturing environment for children aged 0–12 years (including our on-site after-school provision).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop a motivated staff team
- Ensure high-quality delivery of the curriculum and safeguarding practice
- Manage daily operations, compliance, and preparation for strong inspection outcomes
- Oversee curriculum planning and monitor children’s progress
- Build positive, trusting relationships with families and carers
- Manage staffing, budgets, resources, and occupancy
- Maintain accurate records and policies in line with legislation and company values
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice
About You
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5/6 preferred)
- Experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Practitioner ready to step up
- Strong knowledge of curriculum requirements and safeguarding
- Confident, organised, and people-focused leader
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Team-orientated with a supportive leadership style
- Pediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake)
If this sounds like the kind of place where you could thrive, we would love to hear from you. We are also happy to arrange an informal, confidential chat if you’d like to find out more before applying.
