A bit about us.....

Little Steps is lovely well equipped, modern facility in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of the small village of Bankfoot and is lucky to have a fantastic group of children and parents who use our provision. We are a very busy setting with a capacity for 68 children. Our friendly staff team work hard together to ensure that we can achieve and maintain high standards and grades.

A bit about you.....

We require an experienced, enthusiastic and committed person with a strong work ethic to lead our team and be a strong role model to fellow colleagues.

A particular strength in managing and supporting staff is essential and an ability to make sure that the centre offers a safe and caring environment for children to develop and learn.

You would:

  • Create a safe, caring and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play
  • Supervise activity planning to make sure that children's needs are met
  • Work closely with parents and/or carers, giving them a high standard of customer service
  • Work with colleagues and other professionals to make sure that children’s needs are met

Your business responsibilities as a manager would also include:

  • Recruiting and inducting suitably qualified and experienced staff
  • Supporting and developing the nursery team
  • Arranging marketing and publicity materials
  • Creating management reports, and maintaining staff and child records
  • Running the centre in line with environmental, health and safety and fire regulations
  • Utilising nursery management software to record attendances, bookings, invoicing etc.
  • Ensuring Quality Improvement is maintained throughout the setting

Applicants must have a qualification in Childhood Practice recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council at SCQF level 9 or above.

Applicants should have or be working towards a relevant Childhood Practice qualification such as the BA in Childhood Practice or equivalent.
