Duration: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37 hour per week
Job Purpose:
To Manage and supervise a multi functional team to assist in the development and delivery of Environmental Services. The postholder may be required to undertake work in public parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, public roads, amenity areas and housing estates. Must also be able to display a sound knowledge in management techniques within environmental services as well as a sound knowledge of Council policies and procedures
Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Educated to HNC level or equivalent or have at least 5 years experience in managing a multi functional operational team
A full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Recent experience relating to work portfolio and knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
Proven ability to contribute to continuous improvements in delivery of services and performance of staff.
Proven record at management level of the ability to manage a team, delivering required results within a customer focused organisation.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with a range of audiences including individuals at all levels within the organisation, businesses and the general public.
Proven ability to use a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office and email.
Proven ability to establish and monitor performance standards and data to ensure they are being met.
Proven ability to organise and prioritise workloads in order to deal with simultaneous demands and to achieve deadlines.
Proven ability to work proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior post.
Proven ability to Manage projects from the start through to completion, using established project management approaches.
