Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

To provide appropriate business analysis support to Aberdeen City Council Services throughout the project lifecycle as assigned through the Digital Programme Office

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Either a degree and/or relevant professional/experience in Business or Computer
Science
• Significant experience of working in a business analyst role or similar

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

• An ability to provide Business Analyst support to major business change and
transformation projects, ideally in an environment where IT is a key partner
• Proven track record across core Business Analyst skillset including, but not limited to,
data capture/analysis, process modelling and design, extracting/defining business
requirements, writing use cases/user stories, preparing test plans, managing UAT
process
• Well developed stakeholder management skills when dealing with project managers,
IT professionals and business experts at all levels of seniority.
• Excellent communication skills including an ability to explain often complex
information to a wide range of audiences, specialist and non-specialists, including
Chief Officials, elected Members, all levels of internal staff and external suppliers of
services.
• Facilitation skills
• Ability to prioritise work to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to research and understand new subjects on a self-taught basis
• Ability to produce high quality outcomes
