Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

The purpose of this role is to deliver a high-quality business support and administration service to a range of Council service areas.

The postholder will work as part of a wider pool of administrative colleagues within Business Services to meet the administrative demands of the organisation.

The Job profile is for all posts and outlines the types of tasks to be undertaken by the postholder(s) within the wider Business Services Team. There are three posts available, and whilst it's expected that when needed the postholder will undertake duties required to support a broad range of services, the primary focus of the three posts will be in the following three areas. 1. To provide administrative support to the building services team, including the void property process, equipment stores, timesheet data input, and other administrative tasks to support the building services team. This post will be primarily based at the Kittybrewster Complex. 2. To provide administrative support to the building services team, including communal repairs, property maintenance; and administrative support to the Waste & Recycling team . This post will be primarily based at Marischal College. 3. To undertake administrative processes including the processing of Overtime Claims, Travel & Subsistence Claims, and administrative support for the Environmental Services Team as well as the Waste & Recycling team.

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

  • Office administration
  • Working with others co-operatively and flexibly to achieve better services and customer-focused outcomes
  • Using a variety of IT packages
  • Organising and prioritising own workload
